The Axx Advanced Certification of Pastoral Ministry qualification equips you to follow the call on your life. It is the Axx qualification that is designed to prepare you for a broad range of ministry roles inside the Church and in the wider community. If you love the ministry and people then this is perfect for you.
The Advanced Certification of Pastoral Ministry starts by answering the important question: What is the Kingdom of God and what is my assignment in it? Then we focus on your spiritual and personal formation. We must first learn to care for ourselves practically and spiritually, before we care and minister to others.
We then journey deeper into the word of God to understand its meaning in both the Old and New Testaments and how to apply it to life and ministry today. Then we take some time to explore and understand the wonders of the Author and the Finisher of faith in Jesus Christ.
This qualification builds on the Certification of Pastoral Ministry.

As a pastor one should take care of spiritual disciplines. Cultivate a culture of spiritual disciplines within the church and it has to start with the leader or leaders.

Advanced Pastoral Care equips you with the skills you need to provide pastoral care in the local church, chaplaincy or the wider community. It is one of the most common expectations of pastors and leaders.
Adrian Turner has been involved in church planting and senior church leadership for just over 30 years, with a primary interest in Missions, including 20 short-term mission trips to over 12 different countries at last count. He completed his doctoral studies at Melbourne School of Theology focusing on spiritual transformation, and loves the opportunity to challenge Pastors and congregations to rise to their Kingdom responsibilities of mission and justice, and explore the possibilities of creating ‘organic relationships’ with other congregations through child sponsorships in the developing world.
I’m greatly thankful for this course and so much equipped with knowledge especially on functions of pastoral care – healing, sustaining, guiding and reconciling. I had a problem dealing with church issues but now I can respond to it as I apply what I had learned from this course at Axx Bible college.
I learnt how pastors are carers, citing God as the first carer who has also called us to care for our subordinates
Having gone through this course I realise the great value of human life.It is so interesting to learn that we are made in the image of YHWH the original Pastoral Carer and that by showing genuine concern for human life we are able to be of immense value to those who are hurting thereby glorifying our heavenly father. For me the most important aspects when caring for people is physical well being, emotional health, spiritual growth and the eternal destiny
This is an awesome course giving the essence of Christ’s Ministry. I am really blessed.
1. MY COURSE SUMMARY
Pastoral care has it’s root in God Himself, who created man in His own image. Since creation, God’s caring and loving heart is displayed, even in the subsequent fall, and the restoration process through redemption and all it’s provisions. This is also justified through various biblical and historical models and examples.
The church is commissioned to continue carrying out this divine mission, as mandated by Jesus Christ and executed by the apostles in the early church. In doing this, the church needs to understand the dialectic nature of christian life, and appropriately address the real struggles that the new creation faces in a fallen world. The indicatives and the imperatives are to be held in proper balance in order to insure that the church, as a healing and redemptive agent, ushers people into a continuous and holistic transformation towards the full expression of Christ’s image.
The proper context for this mission to be properly and productivity carried out is the local church. And this implies that she should reach far beyond the four walls, into the wider community through relational networks and social structures.
Pastoral care is a practical, hands-on responsibility and experience that embraces a variety of deliberate actions, based on relational connections and powerfully accomplished in small groups for maximum results.
2. SOME OF THE MANY LESSONS I LEARNED:
A. The imago dei:this is the main thrust for pastoral care.Understanding that I am made in God’s image, born again by His Spirit and word, redeemed by the Lord Jesus Christ all these having to do with God’s mercy, compassion, love and care, will now become the main catalyst in my pastoral ministry.
2. I learned that the indicatives are God’s provision to us, and the imperatives are God’s requirements from us, and the balance of the two leads to a healthy christian life. As a pastor, I learned that I should not be legalistic, and at the same time, I should not create an atmosphere of lack of accountability and abuse of God’s grace.
3. The three aspects of our christian life: as a gift that we receive by faith, as a goal, becoming confirmed to Christ’s image, and as a task, that is, our collaborative responsibility. So powerful insights.
4. Pastoral care is not just about maintainance, but also about sustainability. It has to do with empowering and equipping God’s people to be transformed and have a transforming influence on those around them.
5. The local church:should not just be about those within the building, but should deeply understand and fulfill her commission to reach out to the surrounding environment through relational networks.
6. I also learned viral practical principles on discipleship(purely relational) and the importance of small groups for effective pastoral care.
Finally, I highly recommend Dr Adrian Turner, as one of my favorite lecturers, with his PDF notes which have been more helpful than the PowerPoint only presentations.
INNOCENT MOSES.
I cannot find enough words to describe how blessed I am to receive these teachings. As a Pastor I feel more confident than ever before about the impact I would be able to have on those who are hurting and have been impacted negatively by life circumstances to the glory of YHWH.In a world where we are confronted with so much evil , negativity we are called to be a lighthouse to the lost and this course will be of immense value.
Advanced Pastoral Care continues with the skills you need to provide pastoral care in the local church. It focuses on pastoral care and helping others during the various life stages and times of crisis and loss.

Just as the good shepherd who cared for their sheep. Jesus cared for his disciples/followers, likewise we are called to do same respective of backgrounds, ethnicity or status. We are called to feed and care for God’s people.
I have learned that, for me to be a good Pastoral Carer, we must learn from God. God is the first and original Pastoral Carer
I agree that as we go through transition of changes aimed by our creator at positive development towards maturity and fully productivity if we continue into the race.
Crisis and loss can happen at anytime, so therefore as pastoral cares, we must be able to know how to care for our followers and those looking up to us. Pastoral carers should show empathy and should be able to balance up life situations by pointing people to what God is saying about the issue and help them come out of the crisis.
Great teaching on Power of Small Group
It is amazing to learn from such talented and spiritual leader. Thank you Jesus for Axx. It’s been best journey to complete this course. I learned many different and new things.

I am so glad about what I’ve learnt from this course .I know that it will greatly assist me in being a better leader ,mentor and motivator.Beimg in ministry we encounter many different personalities and characters, being able to apply biblical principles of conflict resolution can only help grow our ministry creating better leaders to the glory of YHWH Elohim.
I’ve really learnt alot and this course taught me on how conflict comes and also how to approach and resolve conflict as a leader. Failure isn’t the end of the road, rather it’s a step to success. I learnt leadership as a mentor, that some can be a good mentor after they themselves have been mentored.. learned leadership as a disciple and also as coach. It was indeed a wonderful session. I learnt that change is necessary for life. Ministry change and we should always accept changes.
The only kind of leadersip which I’m leading my family with is the “father and husband authority”, because there is only us in our church group. But eventually we are being moved to minister to others, mainly our relatives and close friends. These new leadership learnings which I am having from Axx Bible College will be very useful. I cannot thank you enough. Glory to God.
Concerning to foundations of leadership all the glory be to Jesus Christ because this one of the course that has helped so much.

In this lesson, i learnt how Jesus is important to us because i learnt through His Atonement, teachings, hope, peace, and example, He helps us change our lives, face our trials, and move forward with faith as we journey back to Him and His Father.
Thank God for this great knowledge. This course has given me an insight and understanding of The Father, Son and Holy Spirit ( the Divine Nature and the Humanity Nature) thanks so much for the knowledge that keep placing me ahead of many , I’m indeed grateful and will remain grateful.
Our faith is focused on the person and work of Jesus Christ—we trust who He is and what He’s done. We trust that He is God made flesh (John 1:14) and that He died for our sins and rose from the dead. Salvation cannot be separated from the person and work of Jesus Christ.
Salvation could come from no one else but Jesus Christ. Jesus is not simply a great man or a moral teacher, but He is fully God and fully man. The Bible tells us that Jesus is God (John 20:28; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:8), and it is equally clear that He is fully human (Luke 19:41; John 19:28; Romans 1:2–4; 1 John 4:2–3). Believing that Jesus is both God and man is of fundamental importance, for that’s what defines the person of Christ.
Jesus’ humanity is significant because there is no remission of sins without the shedding of blood (Leviticus 17:11; Hebrews 9:22). If Jesus Christ were not truly human, He could not have sacrificed His body and shed His blood for our sins (1 Peter 2:24). If Jesus were not truly God, then He would have sin of His own that needed atoned for. As the God-man, Jesus Christ is the perfect Lamb of God who takes away the sins of all who will believe (John 1:29). Accepting Jesus’ perfect humanity is crucial to understanding the person and work of Jesus Christ.
Also essential to trusting in the person and work of Jesus Christ is a belief in His divinity and supremacy. If Jesus were not God, He could not provide salvation, for salvation is of the Lord (Psalm 3:8; Jonah 2:9). If Jesus were not fully God and fully man, His sacrifice would have been insufficient to atone for our sins (Hebrews 2:14–17). It is in believing who Jesus actually is—fully God and fully man—that we can understand what He has done.
No other person could have done what Jesus Christ did.
No other work could have secured our salvation like the work Jesus Christ performed. That’s why we trust in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
I have been able to clearly understand what Jesus Christ did for the salvation of mankind from the Person and Work of Christ class organized by Axx. And this training has provided me with more spirituality which will help me lead my ministry more successfully. So I thank Axx for this great opportunity.

In this course I was introduced to the work of Jesus Christ, His essence, His theology and how the atonement works with various view from different scholars. But at the end of it, the session was so clear and understandable.

When Jesus came down, he came to serve. He was never the master. His ministry was upside down. He was serving his servants. We need to be the same.
Here, I learnt theology that surrounds atonement, Grace, Justification and sanctification. It was indeed an eye opener.
I learnt Grace, that God is Grace. Also Grace can also have various forms. More light was shed on Justification and sanctification. Contemporary issues were talked about on how we tell people about God, especially young people.
Good morning my Axx Bible College family, to my review is like this, that the Bible does not tell us much about the early years of Jesus ‘life. It tells us that” Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men”(luke2:52)l understand that Jesus was the Son of God, He was also the son of Mary. Therefore, He was both human and divine. Since He was human, He was tempted in every way as we are. Then Jesus began preaching. (Mark1:15)He also worked many miracle. His miracles prove that God had sent Him. He healed the sick and cast out evil spirits Mark1:34-35,restore sight to the blind (Mark10:46-52),He fed the hungry (Mark6:34-44)and raised the dead,l believe that what Jesus do we will do, as He do,that is my small review. God bless you all Axx Bible College family.
