He is skilled in Lecturing, Coaching, Managing Teams, Conflict Resolution. Ian holds a PhD focused on cultural intelligence, anthropology, contextualised leadership, cultural and religious change, intercultural communication and Majority World Christianity from Monash University.
I have learned that God’s plan for His kingdom was not meant for few people or for a specific nation but for all. So as servants of God we are obliged to take the gospel as we mandated by our Lord Jesus Christ on Matthew 28:19-20. I have also learned how important is the history in the bible. It teaches us how those who came before us carried their duties and their obedience before God.
This is most interesting course of this time i ever studied. Case studies are the best part. I just loved this.
I just want to say thank you tp Ian and his colleague Dr Chin Do Kham who took me through this course. I am very grateful to God for that. I learned so much but what stood out for me is the sacrifice that some people at the risk of their own lives to see the gospel spread. The testimony that it is easier to remove a tooth of an elephant than to convert 1 Hindu. The inseparability of the Church and Mission also stood out for me. the church exists because of missions. I am challenged that we have more missionaries in Christian communities than the unreached people. I was also encouraged by the new way of doing things as I learnt how somebody was able to plant a church via facebook and pastor it.
I very much learned a lot from this topic. As a church planter I should understand culture, appreciate it and be sensetive to it like Christ was Christ has redeemed culture. We should be able to preach the gospel to all nations of different cultures. Jesus became all things to win the souls he passed through culture. He was eating with sinners in order to win them for the kingdom of God. I had a lot of fear with regard culture thinking that somethings in culture are demonic. But now I know that in ourder to win them I should interact, I will not be transformed by culture but I will transform culture. The second ministry that we have is in another village where they have a different culture and I was able to apply what I have learned . Thanks to Axx.
I very much thank God for this course because they made me understand what I am doing, I now understand that all christian believes are called to witness for Christ and proclaim the good news of salvation. Acts 1:8 says you shall receive power after the holy spirit comes upon you and you shall be a witness in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth. Christians should be more concerned with the future of the world than with the future of the church. This teachings has equipped me to go where ever God send me to do his work. Thanks to Axx.
I learned a lot in this module and I have now come out of my comfort zone. We have been concentrating on ourselves, our surroundings and our churches which is a limitation and has been stopping up from growing and broadening. I have now learned about world christian, which means you go with God ‘s world vision. Because God loves the whole world not just christians, the bible States it in John 3: 16. For God so lived the world that he gave his only begotten son to die for our sins so that we have life and life in abundance. This teachings has improved my prayer as I now know that I should pray for the whole world. E.g pray for different countries, the economy, pandemics, dessastas, rain, children, different governments etc. It has challenged me to be a real life changer. It has widened my faith. I have realized that when you concentrate on your life you turn to notice lots of problems, but when you take your eyes off your self and focus on God ‘s bigger plan he indeed fights your battles. I very much thank the college for this course.

I felt different studying this. This is so amazing. I love to study more from sir Ian. I don’t have words to explain. Thank you Axx.

It has been great listening Dr. Ian share passionately about intercultural ministry. I have been challenged to seek God, be conscious of what is happening in the world around me and be global minded. I can make my life count just as others who were able to do it.

I very much appreciate this topic because we are required to go cross cultural. The great commission tells us to preach the gospel to all nations going to other cultures. As we go to other people we need to understand their culture. Jesus him self demonstrated this aspect as he came from heaven ‘s culture into specific human society and culture. He had appreciation and sensitivity to to other cultures how ever this did not stop him from preaching the gospel, he came and redeemed and transformed all cultures. His teachings passed through culture. He was able to interact with anyone e.g the Samaritan woman although it was against culture. Eating with sinners. This course reaches us we should not be transformed by culture but we should transform culture. The first church feather developed Cross cultural sensetivity. Paul says I am called to bea shaper of culture not to be shaped by culture. Phil 3 and he feather said I will not be mastered by anything. 1 Corinthians 6:12.
In this course, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge and frameworks in how to effectively take the gospel around the world and communicate it to cultures that are different to your own.

This is a good lecture for missionary and Church planters, i learnt a lot in these studies concerning mission experience and Church planting. What trigger me most is what not to have in mind during the trip, is especially Messiah mode.
This session is an eye opener for Christian that there are still million and million of people who are still unware of gospel and it is our duty to reach to un reach. Reading bible is good and it is more blessing if read the bible in front of the people who have not heart the bible.
Knowing cross culture values will help us to spread the word of God
I personally have learned a lot about Crossing culture and how to prepare for the great commission that God has called us to do… I will continue to avail myself for God to speak..
Praise the the name of the Lord Jesus.
I have lent so much on missionary works, how a long-term missionary work is and how effective it is.and how to do short term missionary work.understanding culture of the people you’re going to for mission is very important and their language before sharing the gospel to them.
It’s wonderful studying here I have learn alot about cross culture and many more
The pastoral ministry training course provided by Axx is really helping to fast-track my learning and growth. For one thing, it has helped me to see how God’s plan for the salvation of mankind spans the entire Bible.
I have also come to understand how contextualizing the gospel message makes for effective cross-cultural ministry and have been equipped with the tools I need to achieve this contextualization. Now, I no longer see things done from a different perspective from mine to be wrong just because they differ from my own perspective and cultural views. Where these do not clash with scripture, I now see them as “not wrong, just different.”
If you are really dedicated to serving God this is a great course to take. It is chocca block with information for you to explore.
All assessment tasks must be completed to be certified
